Residential Rental Inspection
Every rental unit located within the City is required to have a health and safety inspection by the City’s Building Division once every three years to ensure compliance with all applicable City ordinances or other laws relating to housing, including the substandard housing provisions of the Housing Code contained in Chapter 15.22 of the Pinole Municipal Code. Information about requesting an inspection is online; if assistance is needed, Building Staff can be reached by email or call 510-724-8912.

The Pinole Police Department encourages residents and businesses to register their video security cameras with the Department’s security camera registry. The registry provides a valuable tool for officers and detectives investigating crimes, while maintaining personal privacy. When an incident is reported, police officers will use the registry to see if private security cameras in the area may have captured images/footage that could help solve the crime. Participation is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with notification. To be added to the video surveillance registry:

The Pinole Senior Center provides social, educational, recreational, health, nutritional, and consumer services and activities designed to appeal to a wide range of mature adults residing within the City of Pinole and surrounding communities. Services offered at the Senior Center include lunch program, Food Distribution programs, Zumba, Tai Chi, card games, line dancing, aerobics, gift shop, pool, music, and arts classes as well as events like our annual Senior Craft Fairs, Car Show Pancake Breakfast, and Crab Feed. The Pinole Senior Center partners with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County on their Senior Food Program. Low-income senior citizens 55+ will be able to receive free groceries, including healthy pantry staples, eggs, cheese and assorted meats twice a month. The program at the Pinole Senior Center is available for Pinole senior residents ONLY. The program is offered every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.
If you are interested in the program all individuals must complete the Senior Food Program Application. Applications are available at the Front Desk of the Senior Center and can be submitted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am – 1 pm

The City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the City Hall, 2131 Pear Street, Pinole, at 5:00 p.m. City Council business immediately follows the conclusion of Closed Session items.
The Council encourages expression of views and opinions by citizens on any matter of community interest that is within the Council’s authority. Comments during public hearings, written and oral communications, are all appropriate methods of expressing views.
Citizens wishing to address the Council on any matter not on the Agenda may do so under Citizens To Be Heard.
Citizens may request items to be placed on the agenda by making a request under Citizens To Be Heard or by submission in writing, sent to the attention of the City Clerk’s Office. The request will be forwarded to the City Council for their consideration and requires receipt of a majority vote of the Council to add the item to a future meeting.
