Pinole Stands United Against Hate

United Against Hate Week 2025 is Sunday, October 19th – Saturday, October 25th. United Against Hate Week is important to recognize because it brings communities together to reject hate, bias, and discrimination in all forms. It encourages dialogue, understanding, and solidarity among people of different backgrounds, helping to build safer, more inclusive, and more resilient communities. By participating, cities and residents take an active stand for kindness, equity, and respect.

Join the City of Pinole as we stand UNITED against hate! Visit City Hall, Pinole Library, and the Senior Center this week during business hours to take a pledge using one of our pledge boards.

Residents across Pinole are coming together this week to celebrate unity and take a stand against hate as part of United Against Hate Week. Each day offers opportunities to participate and show support for inclusion and kindness in the community.

Today, students at Pinole Valley High School took the UAH pledge, while the Pinole Grove Resident Action Association hosted a lively poster-making session where seniors and community members created vibrant “Pinole Stands UNITED Against Hate” signs to proudly display throughout the city.

Pinole City Council will issue a proclamation in recognition of United Against Hate Week on Tuesday, October 21st during the City Council meeting.

The activities continue on Wednesday, October 22, with another United Against Hate Pledge Drive at Contra Costa College (2600 Mission Bell Drive) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Then, on Thursday, October 23, families are invited to join a special story time and Unity Walk at the Pinole Library (2935 Pinole Valley Road) beginning at 10:30 a.m., celebrating togetherness and community spirit.

Even if you’re unable to attend one of the community events, we encourage you to take a moment for personal reflection on how you can help foster kindness, equity, and respect for everyone in your daily life.
