Our engineer and staff are responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of capital projects, permitting traffic flow, safety, and infrastructure within the city. This division plays a critical role in ensuring that roads, streets, storm water system, wastewater collection system, and transportation systems operate efficiently and safely for all users, including motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit.
The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a multi-year tool used to identify the City’s capital needs and schedule capital improvement projects over the upcoming five-year period. Capital improvements include the design, purchase, construction, maintenance, or improvement of public capital assets (i.e., streets, parks, buildings, etc.).
The Traffic & Pedestrian Safety Commission (TAPS) is dedicated to protecting the citizens and pedestrians of Pinole. Discussions are encouraged regarding a multimodal transportation plan as several other cities in the county have adopted a similar plan to help secure grants for pedestrian safety and improved transportation.
