Information Technology


The Information Technology (IT) Division maintains hardware and software throughout the City organization. The Division collaborates with other City departments to conduct business process re-engineering and to select and implement appropriate technology to meet City needs. The Division manages information services citywide.

To become a trusted, forward-thinking IT partner within the City of Pinole and empower all departments through efficient systems, excellent service, and strategic technology leadership that enhances community outcomes.

We aim to do this by delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that enable City departments to operate efficiently, serve the public effectively, and achieve their goals through collaborative support, responsive service, and continuous improvement.

IT Services

The IT Division supports the City in a number of ways:

Strategic IT Leadership

Pinole’s IT Leadership team sets the strategic direction for the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Network & Infrastructure Management

This division is responsible for the foundation of IT operations, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.

Helpdesk Services

The IT Helpdesk provides end-user support and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

System Administration

IT ensures the security, stability, and efficiency of critical IT systems such as telecommunications, 911 dispatch, computers, website and security.

Software Development

IT helps customize IT solutions and manages software lifecycles through systems development and software management.

Project Management

This function ensures the successful execution of IT projects and procurement processes involving new projects and program management.

Cybersecurity

IT protects the City’s organizational assets and ensures resilience against cyber threats.

Data Management

This area focuses on safeguarding and optimizing data storage and accessibility.

City of Pinole IT Plan

Council approved the Information Technology (IT) Plan in June 2022. The IT Plan describes how the City currently manages IT; the City’s IT infrastructure; the City’s major software systems; recent technology accomplishments; and potential IT projects and budgets for a five-year period. The IT Plan was one of the strategies of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025.
